FAQs – SCIENTIFIC BIRTHDAY PARTY

Planning to have scientific birthday party first time with Nutty Scientists Canada??  You might have some questions. 

WE at Nutty Scientists Canada like to coordinate all value added services to make your event as smooth as possible, so you can offer the best birthday experience to your little scientist & their friends, and your valuable guests as well! Except food & food related accessories, you are covered with all you will need most for the special day.

Below is the list of questions, asked by Nutty parents from time to time and we have summarized them for you, to have better understanding and more comfort hosting your special event with us.

1. WHAT IS A SCIENTIFIC BIRTHDAY?

We know your child's birthday is THE MOST important day for you and your family. You are also interested in making the birthday celebration special so your child can remember it forever!

Nutty Scientists Canada (NSC) is offering a unique way of celebrating birthday parties for your science genius. Our birthday celebrations are full of fun with hands-on science experiments!

NO kid likes regular, traditional & boring birthday parties these days. Our birthday party program is specially designed to offer a special way of celebrating a birthday for your little scientists with fun & joy. The combination of fun and science experiments makes the celebration an unforgettable experience for all aged children.

2. HOW CAN I BOOK & HOW IT WORKS?

Please visit our website at www.nuttyscientistscanada.ca/scientific-birthday and select the birthday party package that fits with your requirements and fill out the request form with your choice of date and time. We will quickly confirm the availability with your selected date & time with additional instructions for payment to complete the registration. You will have an option to book now with booking fees to secure your choice of date & time and pay balance 2 weeks before the event day or pay full registration fees or you can pay full fees at the time of registration. Please note that if your booking request within 2 weeks from the event date, FULL payment of registration is required with booking. 

Upon completion of registration, we will prepare a draft of the RSVP card customized with your information as provided with registration form. You can get it printed and distribute or text or email to your invitees. 

3. WHAT DOES THE PARTY LOOKS LIKE?

Our scientific birthday party program is carefully designed for 90 minutes, which is divided into two parts of 45 minutes each.

First 45 minutes are assigned for science experiments. We will be conducting ONE science experiment in a group of all little scientists, where the birthday person presents the science experiment (with help of our professors) to the invitees. They will be observing science and learn what science behind the experiment and SECOND experiment would be the individual participation, where ALL little scientists (including birthday person) will participate in science experiments by hands-on activities, customizing it with their own choice and once finished, they will take their experiment home, also. 

Throughout ALL our experiments we will make sure they have lots of fun with a WOW factor and learn science. We also like to ensure they have the best learning experience whilst completing experiments on time as well as ensuring proper clean up/safety. We want to make sure every little scientist can participate and learn (ask questions and explore) while having a fun party! 

Second half of the program (45 minutes) is for cake cutting, birthday celebration, food distribution and socialization with friends & family members.

4. IS THAT ENOUGH TIME FOR BOTH PARTS? CAN I GET EXTRA TIME?

Yes, as per our experience and comments from our nutty parents, the session's timing is good enough and perfect to complete both activities- science experiments & food distribution & birthday celebration .

But if you think, you might need extra time for birthday celebration & socialization with friends & family, you can add half an hour at a rate $50/per half an hour at the time of registration request. Requested additional time will apply only for socialization & celebration NOT for an additional science experiment. 

5. CAN I BOOK IN ADVANCE?

Yes, you can. When you book your choice of birthday package, you will have the option for full payment or register with booking fees and pay the balance amount before 2 weeks of the scheduled date.

Please note that if you are booking a scientific birthday party within 2 weeks from the event date, FULL payment is required.

6. WHAT ARE THE PACKAGES AVAILABLE?

Depending on the total numbers of guests you’d like to invite, we offer 3 different types of party packages. Please visit at www.nuttyscientistscanada.ca/scientific-birthday for more info.

7. CAN I UPGRADE MY SELECTED PACKAGE AFTER I BOOKED?

Yes, you can! You can upgrade your selected package at least 2 weeks from the event date. Upon request, we will send you further instructions for the upgrade you requested for.

Unfortunately, at this time downgrading your selected package is not available.

8. WHAT IS INCLUDED - EXCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE PRICE?

ALL program fees includes: Science experiments materials, take home supply & materials, our experienced staff(s) to coordinate science experiments with little scientists! and also awesome birthday decorations, furniture- table & chairs for experiments, food table arrangement and guest sitting arrangement and colorful science lab space (except if you select a venue)

NOT INCLUDED: Party food, return gifts, food distribution accessories & supplies - such as plates, spoons, forks, paper napkins etc. Some food restrictions apply, see the note under “What kind of food allowed?" and "Can I have additional decoration” below.

9. WHAT AGE GROUP FITS FOR YOUR SCIENTIFIC BIRTHDAY PARTY? 

Well, our scientific birthday party programs can be fit with different age of scientists. We can customize our science experiments as per the age group to offer them more fun and learning experience on their special day. PLEASE note that if your little science genius is less than 5 years of age, parent(s) must be accompanied with him or her all the time of party and during the experiments as well. 

10. WHAT KIND OF EXPERIMENTS ARE OFFERED?

We love science! We always design science experiments as per the age group of the birthday person and their friends attending the party. Our science experiments are well designed to make them more participatory, hands-on and keep our scientists engaged with full entertainment. We will make sure every little scientist can explore and learn science while having the fun at the party! 

For example, the slime making fun, our slime making experiment is above and beyond the average slime experiment, unlike you’ve ever had before! Little scientists can customize their experiment as they please and also take home the slime they made and scientific knowledge about slime, as well (how it’s made, and the science behind the ingredients!). Its not a magic but there is science behind it!

11. WHAT KIND OF FOOD ALLOWED?

Some food distribution restrictions apply. At our Science Lab, allowed foods are pizza, sandwich or fruit platters, birthday cake, canned/small bottled/boxed soft drink or juice, snacks, and their related supplies & accessories. ALL food distribution at parties must be nut free.

We do not have refrigerators or freezers at our science lab location. Most of our Nutty parents place the order for delivery of cake and food in the second half of the event time.

12. CAN I HAVE ADDITIONAL DECORATIONS?

We offer awesome birthday decoration (if you are at our science lab). See the photos visit our Google profile at https://goo.gl/maps/VDqVt8LX1Kuh1PDp6 . But if you like to add decorations, you are more than welcome with your additional decoration items.

You can do additional decoration on the floor, on the food table or experiment table & chairs but no decoration allowed on the wall and ceiling of the science lab.

13. DO WE NEED TO BRING TABLE CLOTHS FOR SET UP?

We provides table clothes for food table and cake table but if you like you can bring your own table clothes, you are more than welcome to do so. 

14. WHAT IF I HAVE EXTRA PEOPLE?

You can add an additional person to the total number of people allowed with your selected package. $31+ tax /per person charges will apply. Additional charge applies to every addition of child ( over 10 kids /15 kids /25 kids ) to your selected package or additional attendees (over 20 attendees/ 25 attendees/ 35 attendees) over the total number of attendees to your selected package.

OR you can upgrade your birthday package that match with your new requirement of total number of people. as mentioned earlier herewith. Unfortunately, at this time downgrading your selected package is not available.

14a) If you have selected a package and have less kids than what is offered in the package: 

For example, you select Nutty Science Explorer which includes 20 attendees as maximum up to 10 kids & 10 adults. If you have less then 10 kids, you can add more adults as long as total attendees are 20 in total. This applies to ALL other birthday party packages!

*Please note birthday person is NOT included with the total number of attendees of your package (this is their special day!)*.

15. WHAT IS YOUR CANCELATION POLICY?

$150.00 cancelation fees apply to every request for cancelation.

Cancelation request must be in writing with reason of cancelation and must be made at least 2 weeks before the event date.

Cancelation fees can not be adjusted with any future registration for scientific birthday parties or any of our other programs & activities.

NO verbal or phone call or by text or WhatsApp request will be considered and honored. Cancelation request must be in writing and at least 2 weeks before the event date.

Otherwise, registration fees are NON refundable.

16. WHERE YOU ARE LOCATED? IS FREE PARKING AVAILABLE AT STREETSVILLE SCIENCE LAB?

We are located on ground floor at 154 Queen St S, Unit # 114, Mississauga ( Streetsville) On L5M 2P4. Please click here to view the location on Google map https://goo.gl/maps/VDqVt8LX1Kuh1PDp6  We have plenty of FREE parking available for your guests. 

17. DO YOU OFFER SERVICE OUTSIDE OF YOUR LAB? AT A VENUE OR CLIENT PLACE?

Yes, we will also provide service outside at our lab. Additional travel charge will be added to your selected birthday party package as $50.00 if the home or venue location is within 30 kms from Nutty Science Lab for kids ( map location :https://maps.app.goo.gl/Dcwmjjw18zQ2ozPr8 ). $75.00 if the home or venue location is within 30 to 70 kms, except Toronto Downtown area. $150.00 if the home or venue location is located at Toronto Downtown. $100.00 if the home or venue location is out of town ( 70 to 100 kms )  from Nutty Science Lab for kids https://maps.app.goo.gl/Dcwmjjw18zQ2ozPr8. 18. WHAT IS THE AGE GROUP YOU CAN HAVE BIRTHDAY PARTY ?

We can have birthday party for any age. We can customized party activities for any age group from junior to senior scientists.  

19. CAN MY INVITEE(S) OF 3 YRS CAN PARTICIPATE WITH EXPERIMENTS ? 

YES they can but must be supervised by their parent(s). Parent(s) are included with total counts of your invitees.  

20. HOW MANY KIDS CAN PARTICIPATE WITH PARTY?

Depending on your selected package of birthday party, we can accommodate maximum up to 25 kids at our lab or at the venue and maximum up to 40 total invitees ( including kids & adults).

For example, If you have selected Nutty Science Explorers package, with 20 people in total, including 10 kids  & 10 adults. You can add additional kids or Adults with extra charge at $31.00+tax / per person (whether or not participating). 

21.CAN I COME LITTLE EARLY ON PARTY DAY 

Yes of course. You can come 10 minutes before the party time to arrange your stuffs and get ready to welcome to your guests. Party decorations, experiments table & chairs, Food table with table cloth and sitting arrangement for your guest would be ready before party time. 

22. WHY NUTTY SCIENTISTS CANADA ?

Our goal is to provide the best celebration experience for birthday parties with science activities. In addition to birthday party fun, we offer exciting and participatory hands-on science activities that will allow them to learn something valuable! The combination of fun and learning science makes the celebration an unforgettable experience for all aged children (and even parents!). We can customize science activities and explanations for the "science behind it " as per the age of the birthday person.
